Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Will it feel as if I am under a general anathestic?
A. No, you will feel very relaxed but be aware of everything that is being said to you. It has been compared to driving to a destination you have been many times and you remember getting in to the car but don't really remember the journey. However you know that at any time if faced with danger you would be able to respond. The same with hypnosis, if you did not like what was being said or your felt unsafe you would be able to open your eyes sit up and be in control.
Q. Will it work straight away?
A. Although it sounds a little weak, it depends on the individual. If the individual is ready for the changes suggested they will happen fairly rapidly if not immediately, others it can take a few days or weeks. Hypnosis is very effective for the majority of complaints it treats.
Q. How often will I have to come?
A. Again it does depend on the individual and the behaviour you are wishing to change. For most complaints probably 3 - 4 sessions, with smoking it is done in one session.
Q. How do I know if you are the Hypnotherapist for me?
A. It is very important that you feel confident with the therapist that you choose. You will find that most Hypnotherapists will suggest the first session is for you to ask all the questions about the therapy you will receive and a chance to see if you would feel comfortable working with the particular therapist and also whether you think Hypnotherapy is for you.
Q. How much does a session cost?
A. I charge £60 per session (between 1 hour and 1 hour 30 minutes). Smoking cessation is £80 for a one off session.
